You went smaller. It still looked like a lot of watch.
Maybe you already did the sensible thing and dropped a size. 38mm, 39mm. And on the wrist it still looked bigger than the number on the spec sheet. That's because diameter is only one of the things your eye reads.
A collector with a 6-inch wrist put it plainly: 'Colour has an effect on perceived size. A white dial will look larger than a similar sized dark dial.' Most sizing advice stops at millimetres. Your eye doesn't.
Two things decide how big a watch looks. Neither is the diameter.
1. The dial. A light dial reflects light all the way to the edge, so the eye reads the whole face as the watch. A black dial pulls the edge in and blends into the bezel. Same case, smaller-looking face.
2. Lug-to-lug. This is how far the watch reaches across your wrist. The Scubamaster 58 is 45.5mm lug-to-lug, so on a 6.5-inch wrist it ends inside the edge. No overhang to make it look oversized.

Why does a mod watch cost $368?
The case is 904L steel (same grade as $5,000+ Swiss pieces), the crystal is sapphire, and every watch is hand-assembled and regulated before it ships. You're not paying for a brand name — you're paying for the materials and the bench time.
Will it actually fit my wrist? How do I know before I order?
Measure your wrist in inches. The fit range is 5.9 to 7.2 inches: in that range the 45.5mm lug-to-lug sits inside your wrist line with no overhang. Lucy (she runs the workshop) will also size the bracelet to your wrist before it ships — just include your measurement at checkout or email after.
Can I get the bracelet adjusted before it arrives?
Yes. Lucy adjusts the bracelet to your wrist measurement before the watch leaves Saigon. Email your wrist size after ordering and it ships ready to wear. A tool kit is also included if you prefer to adjust at home.
I've never heard of Verlion. How do I know this is real?
Lucy is a real person — she answers emails and WhatsApp, assembles the watches at the bench in Saigon, and has shipped to customers in the US, UK, EU, and Australia. Every close-up image and video is shot at the workshop on a real watch. If you email before ordering, a real person replies.
What's the quality actually like — not the marketing version?
Case, crystal and movement are what the spec sheet says: 904L steel, sapphire crystal, NH35 automatic. The steel bracelet comes with an adjustment tool kit in the box. Lume is standard Green Luminova — visible in a dark room, not bright enough to read the time at 3 a.m. We'd rather tell you now than surprise you.
How accurate is the NH35 movement?
The NH35 runs ±10–20 seconds per day depending on how you wear it. That's typical for an unregulated automatic. It's a mechanical movement, not a quartz — small daily drift is normal and expected.
Can I wear it in the water?
Rated to 20 ATM — fine for swimming and snorkelling. Avoid hot showers, saunas, and sudden temperature changes. Thermal shock is where water resistance fails, not depth.
What happens if something goes wrong?
Two-year warranty on the movement. If the watch arrives defective, you have 7 days to request a refund. And it doesn’t end there: Verlion stays with you for as long as you wear the watch. A scratched bezel after two years, a bracelet that needs re-sizing, a question about a service — email Lucy and you get advice and help, not a closed ticket. We don’t sell a watch and disappear.
